We already know that Ireland is famous for its food, drink and literature… But what happens when we combine all three into one? We get the Kerrygold Ballymaloe Literary Festival of Food and Wine, the world’s first literary festival dedicated to food and wine!
Held at the Ballymaloe Country House situated in Cork, Ireland and already in its second year, the Kerrygold Ballymaloe Festival attracted around 30 000 people who came to see a full range of gourmandes and food lovers, including national and international authors, chefs, foragers, educators, wine experts, gardeners, publishers, TV presenters, bloggers and journalists. The festival is a three day culinary celebration of food and drink with a full range of events such as demonstrations, discussion panels, speakers, readings, tours and of course plenty of tastings!
Tentickle Stretch Tent’s in Ireland, have been a part of this festival from the start and this year they created an amazing chill space that covered the entrances to The Big Shed and Drinks Theatre using 2 x 10m x 15m Beige Stretch Tents, connected along the 10m Seam to create a 30m x 10m Canopy. The chill vibe inside was enhanced by Maverick Marquees who used mobile flower planters to create connections for the exit poles to help disguise the bases. Angus Barry from Tentickle Stretch Tents Ireland said that while it was only his first year at the festival, he would definitely be going back next year:Great food, drinks, creative influences and of course ‘craic’. While Cork is at the other end of country from where we are based in Belfast, the crew and I always enjoy a good road trip! The Organisers are wonderful people to work with and in a short space of time we have met some fantastic people who are involved in events and who bring such a positive attitude to their work! It was an absolute pleasure to help out at the festival and we can’t wait for next year!
